After several years of conducting computer  classes in our TrainingWheels mobile training lab, we're getting out of the training business.  The 1996 Winnebago Adventurer is for sale!


Aspen Publishers Production System Project

As our long-term relationship with Aspen Publishers continues to thrive, we are developing a major enhancement to the Production/Editorial Project Tracking database we built for them.  This application will tie their Gaithersburg, MD and New York publishing offices together to share a common application for tracking product development costs and schedules.

Federal Realty, American Immigration Law Projects

Recently,  Federal Realty and the American Immigration Law Foundation have joined our growing list of clients. The database development team is working on several new project to help Federal Realty manage the massive construction effort at Pentagon Row in Washington DC.  And we're installing and customizing a version of our powerful Fund Raising Management System for the American Immigration Law Foundation in DC.

Microsoft Road Rally 2000 Marketing Campaign Successful

The official release of Windows 2000 marked the end of a major marketing campaign with Microsoft's Washington DC office utilizing the TrainingWheels vehicle to provide live demonstrations to many corporate clients in the area during the first quarter.  We're pleased to be able to help Microsoft demonstrate this amazing new operating system!

Truckload Carriers Association Project

We're pleased to add the Truckload Carriers Association to our growing list of Association clients. The database development team is embarking on a new project to help the TCA improve their Highway Angels Database, which is used to track details about 'Good Samaritan' deeds performed by truck drivers all over America's highways. New Corporate Training Offers

This fall we're launching a new style of computer training!  We'll be driving the TrainingWheels Winnebago to corporate parks all over the Washington / Baltimore area offering an outstanding value in software training.  Half-day training classes in Microsoft Office products for only $99 per student!  Now you can sign up for pre-scheduled classes that are convenient to you, or even coordinate with other tenants in your building to request a special class at your convenience, delivered right to your front door!

Daughters Of Charity Survey System

Our database development team is working on a survey tracking system for the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg, MD.  We'll be developing a Microsoft Access based system to help them track information about their sisterhood all over the world.

Congressional Quarterly Projects

The database development team at TrainingWheels has been awarded several contracts with Congressional Quarterly, publisher of a variety of journals and books covering the spectrum of politics in Washington DC  and the world.  We are happy to be working with CQ to upgrade several of their key database systems.

SkillsUSA-VICA Membership System

For the ninth year running, we are proud to be releasing an upgrade to the SkillsUSA-VICA Electronic Roster System.  This software is employed by hundreds of academic institutions throughout the country to prepare membership rosters for the popular SkillsUSA-VICA clubs.  In addition, this year we are assisting the national headquarters in upgrading their membership database to accommodate electronic submissions from the schools and revamping their entire membership system.

Microsoft BigDay Events

Microsoft is offering an excellent seminar program in various sub-urban communities to help educate small and medium businesses about how they can benefit from using Microsoft technoogy.  TrainingWheels recently partnered with Microsoft at the York, PA BigDay event. Ken Kirby Joins the TrainingWheels Team

We're growing again!  This time we're happy to have Kenneth Kirby join our consulting and training team.  Kenneth just received his Master's from American University, and will be helping out with the ongoing training classes and doing some Microsoft Access development with us.  Welcome Aboard Kenneth!

 

Assistance for Crisplant & Lockheed Martin

Recently TrainingWheels was able to provide our expertise with Microsoft's Small Business Server on a unique project with Crisplant and Lockheed Martin. We assisted them with implementing a single Small Business Server installation to handle the data loading and reporting system for a prototype product here in Frederick, MD.

Interstitial Cystitis Assoc. Project Underway

We have recently completed the first phase of a database conversion project for the Interstitial Cystitis Association.  Thier aging Q&A DOS application was in dire need of an upgrade, and E.D.G. was selected to complete the project.  With enough time and effort, we're hoping to parlay this powerful Access Fundraising database into a marketable product for other non profit and fund raising associations around the country.

Paradox Conversion Project

As part of our ongoing commitment to help Adventist HealthCare, we are starting another project to convert an old Paradox 4.0 for DOS application to Microsoft Access 97.   This will insure the ability of this application to continue running well into the year 2000.

National Institute of Health (NIH) Contract

The team at Enterprise Development Group has recently won our first federal government contract through a  database design and development project with the National Institute of Health!  We'll be building a medium sized Microsoft Access database for the Bethesda-based office of NIH during the next few months!

IAC SBS Installation

On of our database clients, the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, has decided to upgrade their existing Windows NT 3.51 LAN environment to a completely new Microsoft Small Business Server.  We've been contracted to bring our SBS expertise to their office and install a new Dell PowerEdge Server and roll out this powerful new networking tool for them in the next few weeks. Score another win for Small Business Server!

Citicorp Training Contract

This month we're spending lot's of time in Hagerstown, running a series of Windows and Office 97 classes for Citcorp -our relationship with Herschell Weaver and Barry O'Connell is working out great all around!  In between Citicorp classes, we're squeezing in classes for Norwest Bank, Aspen Publishers, and Norwest Mortgage! October is a busy month!

Microsoft Exchange & Outlook System Under Development

In addition to our extensive database development projects, we are now working on a collabrative groupware application using Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and Outlook 97.   This project will tie together various departments of a multi-state organization and significantly improve efficiency while reducing paper-shuffling.

BFI Contracts Now Extend to Elkridge MD

The TrainingWheels vehicle recently traveled towards Baltimore again for more Windows 95 training for Browning-Ferris Industries.  BFI is one of the worlds largest waste handling companies, and TrainingWheels is becoming the training provider of choice for bringing quality software skills to BFI employees all around the Washington DC area.

Microsoft Project Consultant Placed

We've recently partnered with another local consultant for a long term Microsoft Project contract with Norwest Mortgage here in Frederick, MD.  Norwest (and previously Prudential) has long been one of our faithful software training clients, and now we have a full time Microsoft Project consultant on site assisting with several large ongoing projects.  We're glad to be able to help, and hope this new partnership goes a long ways.

Data Warehouse Project Nears Completion

Our long term efforts at implementing a complete data warehouse for Adventist HealthCare are drawing to a close.  We have the system up and running, and are nearly ready to hand off daily control of the system to the client. There are lots of other projects to be completed with other units of this major client, so we are ready to move ahead!

Another contract with the American Bankers Association

In addition to the two ongoing projects we have with the American Bankers Association, we've just won another contract to convert an existing Paradox for DOS application to Microsoft Access 97!  We'll be handling the conversion of their membership tracking software for the renowned Instutute of Certified Bankers program to a new Windows 95 interface.  Thanks again ABA!

Roy Jorgensen & Associates Joins Our Client List 

We are happy to have recently trained some of the staff at Roy Jorgenen Associates in an Intermediate Excel class recently.  The TrainingWheels vehicle fit perfectly in their rear parking lot, and we voted that Roy Jorgensen Associates has the most beautiful corporate campus we've been to yet!

Two New Projects with the American Bankers Association

Enterprise Development Group has won two development projects with the American Bankers Association! We are currently developing two Microsoft Access database systems for this financial organization, as well as providing periodic consulting assistance with various database projects.

Baltimore Office Products and Computer Show 

TrainingWheels, along with Green Computer Concepts of Mt. Airy, participated in the Baltimore Office Products and Computer Show at the Timonium Fairgrounds recently.   Mark Williams, our lead technical trainer, presented several free seminars on Microsoft Office 97 and the Internet Explorer 4.0.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us - and good luck with those Signature Disks!

Datawarehouse Project Underway

Enterprise Development Group has won a contract to develop and  implement a Datawarehouse for Adventist HealthCare.  The project is now fully underway and is already undergoing preliminary testing of some massive amounts of data.  The prototype is being built using Microsoft Access 97, and will eventually be upsized to Microsoft SQL Server 6.5.  

Another Access/PowerBuilder Developer Joins TrainingWheels!

Once again we are proud to introduce a new face around the offices of Enterprise Development Group! Marc Metz joined us recently to help satisfy our growing client base with his database development abilities. marc comes to us from National Con-Serv, Inc. in Rockville where he was a Team Leader on a growing PowerBuilder database project. Marc has already shown his strengths at E.D.G. on projects for National VICA, Aspen Publishers and Adventist HealthCare. We're glad you're with us Marc!

New Laptops for TrainingWheels

As technology continues to race ahead, we have recently upgraded all the computers in the TrainingWheels vehicle to allow us to offer training in today's power hungry software products. We chose Pentium 133Mhz laptops as our standard platform in the vehicle. Each computer has 24Mb of RAM and of course Active Matrix screens. Using the amazing PartitionMagic software, we have Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT Workstation loaded on every machine - along with all three versions of Microsoft Office! Now we can quickly switch to whatever operating system and Office version you need!

Additional Development Staff!

We have recently added to our staff of full time consultants! David Williams, who has long been helping run Enterprise Development Group, has recently made the switch to full time. David brings with him almost 30 years of systems experience with such industry leaders as Electronic Data Systems and DynCorp. Now we are even better prepared to help clients analyze business challenges and design innovative and effective solutions to those challenges.
